Amazing decor, a gem of a pub. Lovely service and proper pub grub for food. Had a delicious Steak and Ale pie, and the lovely woman behind the bar adviced me to compliment the pie with a pint of Nicholsons. Well she got it right!! Would recommend this pub to everyone....you can even see where Paul McCartney sang in the grand lounge
What a fantastic building and magnificent pub with beautiful exterior and interior. Rear dining room is magnificent and delicious lunchtime food. Highly recommended in a historic part of Liverpool
Have had this pub on my sightseeing list for ages and have finally ticked it off :)
The interior was like going back in time, the rooms off the main bar area were so cosy with the wood panels.
Now to the thing that got me here .... the gents toilets .. photos were taken not by me ,my husband took them as the whiff from the toilets put me off but if you’re brave then they are worth the visit and the ladies toilets are pretty as well (can’t believe I’m reviewing toilets)
I could’ve stayed longer nursing a pint or two but I had a bus to catch :(
Former Tetley house, now owned by pub chain, Nicholson's. Historic and most wonderful interior. An island bar serves rooms and spaces that radiate off it. Serves five or six varied guest cask beers. Look aloft for the intricate ceiling decor, admire the etched glass, and marvel at the grand hall cum dining room. The Gents toilets are worth a look-see too for their fabulous urinals. Recommended.
This pub is amazing. It is full of darkwood paneling and bar plus stained glass windows. It is like going back in time. Real ales on sale served in great condition. Haven't tried the food. If you visit Liverpool and you don't try this pub then you wasted your visit.
Another legendary Liverpool pub. We were fortunate to see Paul McCartney there on the 9th June, 2 of only 50 people in the place...
Sir Paul McCartney plaid a secret gig in your pub two days ago so it must be great there. You deserve 5 stars :)
